NEW! Beginner’s Knitting. Learn at your own pace and find a knitting method that's most comfortable for you. This class will help build knitting skills: casting on, knit and purl stitches, casting off, and interpreting knitting patterns. Instructor: Vera Videnovich. Fee: $80 for the 4-week session.

 

Belly Dance. A joyous union of body with music, this ancient dance form celebrates the power of the female body while increasing core strength and coordination. Instructor: Stephanie Draus. You may drop in at any time. $14 per class, or $12 each for 4 or more classes paid at once.

 

Changing Woman, a group for Women in Transition. A safe and supportive group to discuss changes, emotions, decisions, relationships, and more. Facilitated by Debbie McDermitt, LCSW, and Stephanie Draus, ND. TBA.

 

MEDITATION:

Intro to Meditation. Learn the basics of this vital practice for calming and centering the mind. Experience meditating in a supportive environment with a group.

Meditation Level 2. Continuing exploration of meditation techniques. Requires instructor permission.

NEW!! Moving Meditation. Explore the joy of mind united with body in this spirited class. Guaranteed to raise a sweat and leave you feeling rested & focused. No dance experience necessary.

NEW! Nia. An energizing, uplifting combination of dance, martial arts, and healing art forms, Nia integrates body, mind, and emotions during an hour-long workout. Instructor: Mihaela Campion.  $90 for the 6-week session.

 

T’ai Chi. An ancient Chinese practice of slow, flowing movements, T'ai Chi reduces stress and promotes proper breathing, relaxation and balance.  Level 1 is suitable for beginners. Level 2 requires instructor permission. Instructor: Arlene Faulk. $90 for the 6-week session.

WRITING

"I Remember" 12 Steps to Creative Recovery: A Writing Class to kick start your story
Writers, are you mired in doubt, avoidance or anxiety? This writing workshop is based on the idea of recovery and renewal, forgiveness and moving forward. Your commitment to a six week writing class is taking that first step. The group will work together and separately using exercises, sharing work, and finding the power to follow through. Each week will focus on revealing more about your process as a writer and give you the tools and strategies to start, continue or complete your writing dreams.
(Fiction, nonfiction, screenplays, essays, or short stories welcome.)

Instructor: Molly Moynahan. $185 for the 6-week session

YOGA:

Gentle Yoga/Beginner’s Yoga. A class tailored to those seeking a slower pace and a more restorative Yoga experience, as well as those new to the poses and practice of Hatha Yoga. Instructors: Sally Levin, CYT & Debbie McDermitt, CYT. $60 for the 4-week session.

Early Morning Yoga. Get a balanced start to your day. Instructor: Sally Levin, CYT. $60 for the 4-week session, $15 per class.

Yoga Fundamentals. This class is an excellent way to move deeply into a yoga practice, even for beginners. Exploration of classic hatha poses in a light-hearted atmosphere.  Small class sizes combined with a caring and skilled instructor make this our most popular class. Instructor: Debbie McDermitt, CYT. $70 for the 4-week session.

NEW! Yoga: Sweat & Restore. The first portion of this class is focused on moving and warming the body through dynamic flowing sequences. During the second, longer portion, students relax in sustained restorative poses to allow the body and mind to release deeply.  This class moves students from their hectic Monday speed into a relaxed state.  It is an excellent class to get what you want and need.  Instructor: Debbie McDermitt, CYT. $70 for the 4-week session.

NEW!! YOUTH WRITING:

“Don’t I Know You From Somewhere?” A writing class for youth that encourages creative thinking and self-discovery. (ages 11-15)

This writing series for youth focuses on the study of character traits and defining one’s self. Students will create their own short story, arranging various fairy tale characters, favorite athletes and other stars together in an interesting scenario. Their stories and personal character sketches will be combined in a take-home booklet, and they’ll have the opportunity to participate in a reading to their parents. Instructor: Jennifer Chesak. $100 for the 4-week session.

Junior Goddess. A group for girls ages 11-15 to learn about healthy living, self-esteem, natural choices, and more. We will blend our own teas, make eye pillows, practice a little dance and yoga, learn how to give a good shoulder massage to a friend, and more! Instuctors: Stephanie Draus, ND and Meggan Shortall, LMT.  $40 for the 3-hour workshop.

Mindfulness Sunday. Spend a few hours practicing the art of being. The day begins with yoga and proceeds to sitting, listening, and other meditation. We end with eating meditation, hosted by The Hot Spot on Armitage. Led by Stephanie Draus, ND, and Debbie McDermitt, CYT. $60 for the 3-hour workshop (includes lunch!)

 

The Writer Within. In this writing workshop you will create a map to guide yourself to your authentic voice. Focus, connect, and find inspiration. Open to writers at all levels. Instructor: Molly Moynahan. $60 for the 3-hour workshop.
